Fried Music, a classical music school based in downtown Alhambra, believes that one of the most powerful tools in encouraging high level playing in young, aspiring musicians is through competition. As such, we launched our first Concerto Competition for Young Artists for pianists, violinists, violists, cellists, and classical guitarists. Applicants should be between the ages of 12-18 years, but young musicians under 12 years old may apply with teacher recommendation.
The live competition will take place in two rounds on the weekend of June 10-11, 2023.
Deadline to apply is May 20, 2023.
The winner will receive the opportunity to perform with orchestra (in the 2023-2024 season) and a prize of $1,000. Runner-up will receive $500 and the possibility of performance as well. Details, alongside the application form, is on our website: https://www.friedmusic.com/concerto-competition
